The island-province of Camiguin is in the northern tip of Mindanao, a pear-shaped volcanic island with a total land area of 238 sq. kilometres, in the northern tip of Mindanao. It is approximately 90 kilometres north of the City of Cagayan de Oro. A 64km long cemented coastal road surrounds the entire island.
Camiguin Island is said to be "Born of Fire". It has seven volcanoes unmatched anywhere else in Southeast Asia on a single island. Volcanic eruptions and land movements have created this spectacular island full of natural wonders and historical riches.
It is a tiny island of lush forests, volcanic splendour, eternal hot and cold natural springs, pristine patches of black and white beaches, majestic waterfalls, exotic marine life, blue- ridge mountains, serene surroundings, idyllic lifestyle; as a matter of fact, Camiguin has been identified by the Department of Tourism as one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines, and a world renown diving spot.

The harvest of sweet Lanzones fruit is celebrated every year during the third week of October with a long weekend of street dancing, parades and pageants in the main town of Mambajao. People from around the Philippines gather at the Lanzones Festival, which features costumes displays, sports and dances, as well as the highly popular Miss Camiguin Tourism beauty pageant.
The Camiguin culture is a mixture of both Boholano and Cebuano culture. It is very colourful and creative. The people are deeply religious, hospitable and friendly.
